  1. in question no 5 use of had and had been in the same sentence is against rule please clarify. I think the first part is found and the second had panned

      Actually, there is no grammatical error in question 5. According to the grammar rules, the past perfect simple is used to sequence events in the past to show which event happened first.

      First action:finding gold / planning to find gold (past perfect tense)
      Second action: running into town (simple past tense)
      So: The prospector ran into town in excitement because, at last, he had found some gold at the site which he had been planning for months.
