  1. Good morning, could you explain the use of gerund/participle after prepositions? I can’t check it out and none of the grammar I studied gave me that help.

      I will try to write a short explanation below for you, and will publish a detailed lesson separately lesson as soon as possible.

      We can use a noun or gerund after a preposition. However, be careful about “to-infiniteves”.
      1. I want TO read a story for you. (TO here is not a part of the verb want. So, it is not a preposition, but a part of the to-infinitive.
      2. I objected TO reading that boring story. (TO here ise a part of the verbs want. So, it is a preposition, and that is why a gerund is used after it.

      In case of the structures below, we can use gerunds.
      a) Verb + Preposition + Gerund
      bj Adjective + Preposition + Gerund
      c) Noun + Preposition + Gerund
