  1. Hello, I hope you can help me with question 24. The key is B, but I feel “surprised/were” fits better since both the actions of coming one day earlier and seeing her were in the past.

  2. “One day earlier” does not mean the day she came was in the past at the moment of speaking. However, I have changed the correct answer as “has surprised / are” so that it does not confuse anybody.
